“吸煙者”或“煙民”，英語可以譯為smoker?！斑B續吸煙者”，英語可以譯為chain smoker?！胺俏鼰熣摺?，英語可以譯為non-smoker。例如：1. 作為世界最大的煙草生產國和消費國，中國有3 億多煙民， 幾乎等于美國人口總額。As the world's largest tobacco maker and consumer,China has more than 300 million smokers, almost the sizeof the U.S. population.

2. 香煙零售價格上漲對連續吸煙者產生的阻礙作用有限。The rising retail price ofcigarettes has a limited deterring effect on chain smokers.

3. 吸煙者比非吸煙者的頭發稀， 而且容易更快地變灰白。Smokers have thinnerhair that tends to go graysooner than non-smokers.“吸煙”，英語動詞譯為to smoke； 名詞譯為smoking?！皣姛熿F”，英語可以譯為to puff away。例如：

4. 多數煙民從十幾歲就開始抽煙了。Most people who smoke began smoking in their teens.

5. 吸煙有害健康。Smoking isharmful/detrimental/injurious/hazardous to health.
