可愛的小男孩洛比和他的爸爸媽媽在海邊度假。他們漫步沙灘，仰望藍天，遠眺那無邊的大海，眼前分不清天涯還是海角，全然一片藍色的世界。洛比不禁吟誦起了那首膾炙人口的韻律小詩：The sea。

海??！海??！遼闊的海！

碧藍，清新，永遠地自由自在！

洛比：咦，那是什么呀？ Shells！ I’ll pick up them！

媽咪：洛比，這里的them是指shells，pick up是“撿起”、“拾起”的意思。如果它的賓語是一個名詞，可以放在pick up之后，也可以放在pick和up之間。但如果是代詞，就必須放在pick和up之間。所以，你只能這么說：

爸比：Pick them up！ 把它們撿起來！

Pick up the shells. Pick the shells up.把這些貝殼撿起來。
