Millions of children benefiting from nutrition programs

China on June 27 delivered a joint statement together with over 90 countries at the 50thsession of the UN Human Rights Council,highlighting the importance of promoting and protecting economic,social and cultural rights within the context of addressing inequalities in the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

New guideline makes personal protection orders easier

Frequent insults,slander,threats,stalking or harassing family members will now be identified as domestic violence in line with a new judicial guideline issued by China’s top court.

Harming family members by freezing or starving them also counts as domestic violence under the guideline,which was released by the Supreme People’s Court on July 15.

Report: Rural incomes to double by 2035

The per capita disposable income of people in rural areas is expected to more than double to reach 42,800 yuan ($6,340) in 2035,and further increase to over 100,000 yuan by 2050,according to a rural development report released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on July 26.

The number of health workers in China grew at an average annual rate of 5 percent between 2016 and 2020,to reach nearly 14 million at the end of last year,the National Health Commission said on July 28.
