It was the Tooth Fairy.

“So that?s what the Tooth Fairy looks like,”Little Miss Curious said to herself.

是牙仙子。

She followed the Tooth Fairy to another house and this time she was able to peek through the window to see what happened next.

So that night Little Miss Curious stayed awake and sometime after midnight when everybody else was sleeping, Little Miss Curious saw a soft green glow bobbing about outside George?s window.

當天晚上，好奇小姐沒有回家睡覺。在所有人都睡著的午夜，她看見喬治的窗前有一道淡淡的綠光在閃動。

她跟著牙仙子來到另一戶人家，她透過窗戶向里面偷看，想看一看會發生什么。

She watched as the Tooth Fairy took a coin from her purse, reached under a little boy?s pillow and pulled out the tooth the sleeping boy had left there before he went to bed.

她看見牙仙子從錢包里拿出一枚硬幣，放到一個小男孩的枕頭下面，然后拿走了小男孩睡覺前放在那里的牙齒。

The more Little Miss Curious watched the fairy at her work, the more curious she became.

好奇小姐越觀察牙仙子，就越對她的工作感到好奇。

Little Miss Curious followed the Tooth Fairy from house to house until the first light of morning.

好奇小姐跟著牙仙子從一家來到另一家，直到迎來清晨的第一縷曙光。

She had to run to keep up.

As the sky began to lighten the Tooth Fairy flew

away towards a wood.

And in the middle of the wood there was a clearing.

And in the middle of the clearing was a tree.

A very tall tree.

她得跑著才能跟上牙仙子的腳步。

天蒙蒙亮的時候，牙仙子向著一片樹林飛去。

在樹林的中央，有一塊空地。

在空地的中央，有一棵樹。

一棵很高很高的樹。

The Tooth Fairy flew up into the tree.

And of course Little Miss Curious, being the curious person she was, had to follow.

As the sun rose higher in the sky she climbed higher in the tree.

牙仙子飛進了那棵樹里。

好奇小姐好奇心這么重，當然要跟上去啦。

隨著太陽越升越高，她在樹上爬得也越來越高。

Higher and higher rose the sun, up and up went Little Miss Curious, until there in the top most branches of the tree she saw a miniature tree house.

太陽越升越高，好奇小姐也越爬越高。終于，在最高處的樹枝間，好奇小姐看見了一座小小的樹屋。

Little Miss Curious peeked through the window and saw a little chair, a little table and a little bed.

And there was the little fairy herself brushing her beautiful teeth!

好奇小姐偷偷從窗外望進去，她看見了一把小椅子、一個小桌子和一張小床。

接著，她看見牙仙子正在刷她那美麗潔白的牙齒！

So now Little Miss Curious knew what the Tooth Fairy looked like and she knew where the Tooth Fairy lived.

這下，好奇小姐終于知道牙仙子長什么樣，住在哪里了。

Her curiosity was satis fi ed.

So she went home.

她的好奇心得到了滿足。

于是她滿意地回家了。

But on the way home she had a thought.

但是在回家的路上，她想起了一件事。

A puzzling thought that, not surprisingly,made her curious.

一件令人困惑的事，這無疑讓她感到非常好奇。

She went straight to Mr Wrong?s house.

好奇小姐徑直來到錯誤先生家。

“You are clever. How did you know the Tooth

Fairy lives in a tree?” she asked.

“你真聰明。你是怎么知道牙仙子住在樹里的？”她問。

“Was I right?” exclaimed Mr Wrong. “How remarkable. I?m never right. Normally I am…”①“Was I right?”exclaimed Mr Wrong. How remarkable. I'm never right. Normally I am…” 是雙關語。在英語里，right表示：正確，右邊。譯文在此處做了變通處理?！啊?left!”

Which left Little Miss Curious more curious than ever!
