The Teacher Cried

The six-year-old John was terribly spoiled. His father knew it， but his grandma doted on him. He hardly left her side. When he wanted anything， he either cried or threw a temper tantrum. Then came his first day of school， his first day away from his grandmother's loving arms.

When he came home from school his grandma met him at the door. “Was school all right？” she asked， “Did you get along all right？ Did you cry？”

“Cry？” John asked. “No， I didn't cry， but the teacher did！”

老師哭了

六歲的約翰嬌生慣養。他的父親知道這一點，可他的祖母仍然寵著他。這孩子幾乎寸步不離他的祖母。他想要什么不是哭，就是鬧。他第一天上學時才離開祖母的懷抱。

The New Baby

Mr and Mrs Taylor had a seven-year-old boy named Pat. Now Mrs Taylor was expecting another child.

Pat had seen babies in other people's houses and had not liked them very much， so he was not delighted about the news that there was soon going to be one in his house too.

One evening Mr and Mrs Taylor were making plans for the baby's arrival. “This house won't be big enough for use all when the baby comes，” said Mr Taylor.

Pat came into the room just then and said， “What are you talking about？” “We were saying that we'll have to move to another house now， because the new baby's coming，” his mother answered.

“It's no use，” said Pat hopelessly， “He'll still follow us there.”

泰勒夫婦有一個七歲的兒子，名字叫帕特?，F在泰勒太太正懷著第二胎。

帕特在別人家看見過嬰兒，他不太喜歡嬰兒，所以他對自己家里也將有一個新嬰兒的消息感到不滿。

A fourth-grade teacher was giving her

pupils a lesson on logic.

“Here is the situation，” she said. “A man is standing up in a boat in the middle of a river， fishing. He loses his balance， falls in， and begins splashing and yelling for help. His wife hears the commotion， knows that he can't swim， and runs down to the bank. Why do you think she ran to the bank？”

A girl raised her hand and said， “She wanted to draw out all of his savings.”
