In the winter of 1773， a newspaper in Petersburg， Russia， reportedan interesting news. According to the news， at a ball， the 1）ballroom wasso hot and 2）stuffy that the ladies and girls in poor health almost fainted. Itwas because of the large number of people and the burning of hundreds ofcandles.

At this time， a young man jumped on the windowsill and broke the glasswith a punch. Unexpectedly， there was a 3）miracle in the ballroom. One afteranother beautiful snowflakes danced in the hall with the cold air outside thewindow. They fell on the hair and hands of the stuffy people. Someone rushedout of the ballroom curiously to see if it was snowing outside. How amazing！The sky was starry.

So， where did the snowflakes in the hall come from？

Later， scientists solved the mystery. Actually， the ballroom was full ofwater vapor because of many peoples breath. The burning of candles spreada lot of condensation nucleus. When the cold air came in， the saturated watervapor in the hall immediately condensed and crystallized and turned intosnowflakes. Therefore， as long as there are conditions for snow， it will alsosnow in the house.

那么，大廳里的雪花是從哪兒飛來的呢？

后來，科學家才解開了這個謎團。原來，舞廳里由于這么多人的呼吸飽含了大量水汽，蠟燭的燃燒又散布了很多凝結核。當窗外的冷空氣進來，就迫使大廳里的飽和水汽立即凝華結晶，變成雪花了。因此，只要具備了下雪的條件，屋子里也會下雪的。
